As a Maintenance Technician here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and safety of our facilities. You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on various equipment and systems to ensure they are operating efficiently. Your expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving will be essential in identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
We are a service-related team of technicians and tradespeople integrating solutions to help our customers with their day-to-day needs to keep their buildings fully operational 24-7. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance functions within designated facilities that include a portfolio of buildings, performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, minor alterations, and service functions. Responsible for maintaining equipment in a manner that produces a safe, healthy and clean building environment. The ability to handle emergencies and deal with events effectively with limited support and supervision is essential. The successful candidate is a dynamic individual who is organized and driven towards teamwork and organizational success. Strong customer service skills required, and the ability to deal with a broad range of clients tactfully.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- You will support the Team by understanding priorities and safety requirements
- Respond to all calls promptly, which includes being on-call on a rotating basis
- Be able to solve major problems, either mechanical, technical, or tenant relations.
- Issue work permits for on-site third-party vendors
- Maintain all service tools and equipment in good working condition and arrange for repair or replacement
- Perform risk assessments for any jobs
- Local travel to different sites; a company vehicle is provided
- Safety conscious always
- Must pass required enhanced security checks.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum High School diploma
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance
- Journeyman Certification or equivalent
- Valid full class 5 driver’s license.
WE VALUE
- Minimum 4th class ABSA Power Engineering certification (Previous Building Operator "A" or "B" certification)
- Trade certificate such as Plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC, Millwright, Electrical etc.
- Strong knowledge of work protection codes and accident investigation procedures
- Working in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that enhance promoting good customer relations, discussing problems, making recommendations, and preparing required reports
- Independent worker and a self-starter with a hands-on focus
- Previous experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
